PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
VISUAL ARTS COORDINATOR, BERNHEIM ARBORETUM AND RESEARCH FOREST, CLERMONT, KY 2017-CURRENT. In overseeing the Arts in Nature programs and related educational activities, I help fulfill Bernheim’s mission of connecting people with nature while promoting increased public appreciation for the arts. Duties and responsibilities include, overseeing a nearly 40 year established artist residency, curating special artist projects, gallery exhibits and large scale public art installations, developing innovative programming, assisting in grant writing, managing the Bernheim Foundations’ arts collection, directing art competitions and performing promotional tasks daily
EDUCATION COORDINATOR & PHOTOGRAPHY INSTRUCTOR, LOUISVILLE PHOTO BIENNIAL, 2015 – CURRENT. After researching and selecting all equipment for LPB educational pilot program, I developed and implemented a curriculum for teaching introductory photography classes to underserved communities in the Louisville Metro area.
ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE, ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL, LOUISVILLE, KY 2013-2015. Through lectures, assignments, gallery visits and personal investigation, I helped students develop a basic understanding of their digital camera and current electronic imaging technology at an independent, progressive high school.
DIRECTOR, ARCHEO GALLERY, KEY WEST, FL 2006-2011. One of Key West’s most prestigious galleries, Archeo is an oasis steeped in style and history celebrating both the elegant and the primitive. Archeo was an invaluable experience in carefully curating and beautifully displaying museum quality art and artifacts. I traveled to places as distinct as the Zagros Mountains of Iran to the riversides of Mali in the search of hand knotted rugs, African art and antique furniture. As Director, I oversaw the daily operations of the gallery showroom with an emphasis on sales and marketing and as a photographer, I was an integral player in successful brand development and website design which enabled clients to view and purchase works from a distance. My time at Archeo instilled an appreciation for the fine aesthetics rooted in simplicity.
DIRECTOR, WREN GALLERY, KEY WEST, FL 2005-2006. Wren Gallery was a beautiful contemporary exhibition space, featuring exciting new works from local and national artists. In addition to daily operations, I photographed and cataloged all inventory, designed and built the website, promoted exhibitions and created gallery displays. A highlight was taking Wren Gallery to Art Basel Miami in 2005, where I scouted a location in the Design District and spent weeks prepping and promoting a successful pop up event in conjunction with this distinguished contemporary art fair.
DIRECTOR/SALESPERSON, HAITIAN ART COMPANY, KEY WEST, FL 1996-2004. The Haitian Art Company was my version of graduate school. Established in 1976, this small family business promotes, exhibits and sells one of the largest rotating collections of Haitian Art in the United States. A formative time in my life as both young artist and creative professional, I immersed myself in the study of Haitian arts, culture, religion and politics while learning how to operate a successfully established art gallery. In addition to stateside operations, I made numerous trips to Haiti, where I traveled the countryside, purchased artwork, networked with artists, and prepared shipments for export.

RELATED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SADDLE AND SIRLOIN PROJECT, KENTUCKY EXPO CENTER, SPRING 2016. Believed to be the world’s largest portrait gallery commemorating a single industry, the Saddle & Sirloin Club Portrait Collection honors leaders in all facets of the American livestock business. I was hired to repair, restore and prepare a large portion of this collection that I assisted in arranging and installing in the South Wing Mezzanine.
FRAME APPRENTICE, DEVEN 7 STUDIOS, LOUISVILLE, KY 2012 – 2013. Working closely with clients, I assisted in all matters relating to the framing and preservation of artwork in this small batch artisanal frame-shop, providing excellent workmanship in a detail oriented position, consistently producing high quality results. In addition, I was trusted to represent the business in deliveries and installations of artwork to both private residences and public spaces.
FOUNDER, OFF THE BEATEN TRACK PRODUCTIONS, KEY WEST, FL, 2003 – 2006. To fulfill a need for art outside of the typical gallery space, I created and organized exhibitions, designed mail outs, and was responsible for all curating, PR and marketing of events.
MUSIC REVIEWER, SOLARIS HILL NEWSPAPER, KEY WEST FL, 2002 – 2003
