When I saw the call for entries for a show at New Editions Gallery in Lexington I couldn’t help but get excited…a lot of great artists in Louisville show their work there. Some artists I know personally and some I do not…but all whom I admire…among that list are Teri Dryden, Joyce Garner, Cheryl Chapman and Joshua Jenkins. When I saw the show was only asking for work sized 12″ x 12″, I was convinced it was directed right at me. There’s something about the square shape that I simply resonate with and I have been making work that is both square and specifically sized 12″ x 12″ for years!
Founded in 1988 by Frankie York, New Editions Gallery is Lexington’s oldest contemporary fine art gallery and is recognized for the individuality of their artists and the exceptional quality of their work. The gallery is now located in the heart of downtown, at 500 West Short Street. GRIDWORKS REVISITED is a show featuring 60 plus artists, with over 120 works in a variety of mediums and diverse subject matter…and yep, you guessed it, all sized 12″ x 12″!
Exhibition dates for GRIDWORKS REVISITED at New Editions Gallery are from March 17 – May 12, 2017. Join me at the opening reception in conjunction with Gallery Hop Friday March 17th from 5-8pm. If you can’t make the opening reception, the gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am- 5:30pm.
See you in Lexington!
